If you’ve ever taken a minute to shape, brush, or fill in your brows then you’ll be no stranger to the notion that well-groomed brows can do wonders for your face. And one way to do that is with brow tinting.

While it may sound a little high maintenance, a quick colouring of your brows means you no longer have to fuss with a makeup bag full of gels, pencils, and mousses each morning. And in truth, what could be better than having a little more time in the morning to spend as you wish?

At BB’s Beauty and Brows we are proud to offer a fantastic range of services to our clients in both the Peterborough and Leicester areas. One of our ever popular treatments is the tinting of eyebrows and as specialists in this area we know what we are doing!

With many years’ experience in the beauty industry, we know first-hand that eyebrow tinting is the ideal choice for those who are tired of consistently having to spend precious time pencilling in their brows, in order to maintain colour of your brows.

With a vast array of colours to choose from, tinting can last up to 6-8 weeks, depending on how fast your eyebrow circle is. In a time starved world, tinting means you have more time to be able to enjoy the things that really matter. Tinting is especially great for those with blonde locks as this process means your brows become more visible and help to bring a new glow to your face like never before!

We spoke to experienced makeup artist and BBs Beauty and Brows founder Cindy Bansal to find out why you might want to consider defining your arches in this interesting way.

“The main reason most women choose to tint their brows is due to years of over tweezing,” says Cindy. But self-sabotage isn’t the only factor. “Eyebrows naturally lighten from the sun, which means the ends of our brows are sometimes not as prominent as the inner corners.” And unfortunately, even age can affect people’s eyebrows. “The older we get, the more our brows seem to fade away. Brow tinting is a great way to help make them look fuller and more pronounced,” she says.

The key is finding the right tone and shape to accentuate your face shape, complement your skin tone, and make your eyes appear bright and wide.

“Although I love dark, bold brows myself, certain skin tones and hair colour combinations look better with softer, brighter brows,” says Cindy.

For example, it is possible to use two different-coloured tints on those with fair hair. This involves tinting the tails of the brows with a darker hue to make them look fuller and then use a more golden colour along the top of the brows to help brighten them further.

The best advice I can give people is to accentuate what you have naturally and not go overboard! Too much of a good thing can ruin the look you are trying to achieve but as brow specialists we will do everything we can to transform your look.

But why tint instead of simply pencilling them in?

“Tinting looks much more natural, and you won’t see any of the little marks that your pencil can leave behind,” says Cindy.

“Plus, more pronounced brows allow you to wear less makeup and help you look younger. Think about it—Cindy Crawford never seems to age, and part of it is thanks to her strong, full brows.”

Of course, as with everything in life there are pros and cons to tinting but as experienced beauty therapists we can assure you that the positives of such treatments outshine everything!

Let’s elaborate- here’s the list of positives for you to mull over.

  • Tinting is waterproof and so your colour will never run unlike standard make up.
  • Eyebrow tinting lasts up to 6-8 weeks, saving you time, effort and hassle when you are trying to get ready in the morning or for a night out!
  • With so many colours available, there is an endless range of colours to match your skin tone and style.
  • Tinting is very low maintenance meaning you have more time to spend doing other activities.
  • Perfect for those with blonde or fair hair, tinting helps to balance your natural features and enhances the look of your eyebrows.
  • Enjoy smudge free brows, with colour that never runs for beautiful brows, now and always.

And for those wanting some clarification about tinting we hope the following points will clear up any questions you may have:

  • Brow tinting is not for pencilling in eyebrows that have been over plucked or missing again.
  • Tinting does not add colour to your skin but enhances the overall appearance of your face and natural features.
  • The colour of your brow tint can fade more quickly if you regularly swim or attend the gym on a frequent basis.
